In the holiday spirit of giving, our club has decided to organize a canned and boxed food drive for local Virginia and Washington DC food banks. We will run this program for the next 2+ weeks and hope to make an impact in our community as well as others just in time to celebrate Christmas. Starting today, we ask that each of our members begin to reach out to friends, family, neighbors, and classmates to collect non-perishable foods. Attached is a letter you can send out to let people know what we are doing this holiday season. Please use this as a template to share with anyone who may be interested. We will also be holding fundraisers in the coming weeks so that we can purchase extra cans so keep an eye out for updates regarding those. Lastly, we’d like to extend a HUGE thanks to Grace Hardardt for organizing this project on such short notice and writing the attached letter. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate reach out to us or Grace.
Thank you in advance for all of your help!

FROM GRACE HARDARDT
Great Falls Interact and I need your help! This year, the high school branch of the Great Falls Rotary Club is collecting canned food items to donate to Northern Virginia and D.C Food Banks, Shelters, and other organizations as they prepare for the upcoming Holidays and winter months.
Please consider helping us with our Canned Food Drive by gathering any boxed or canned items available. Please avoid any single-servings, tomato paste, glassware, or cans smaller than 8 ounces.
One can goes a long way, so any donation is greatly appreciated! If you choose to donate, please place your contribution on your front porch by Sunday, December 17. By that evening, it will be collected.
Thank you so much!
